Question: Is it necessary to file my financial aid (college) refund check when filing for my tax returns?

You already asked this question. The answer hasn't changed in the last 5 minutes: We need more info. If it was a grant for more than your tuition and you get a check for the extra amount then its taxable. If it was a student loan then its not taxable. You need to ask your college for a 1098-T form (they should send one automatically), then enter the info into your tax software and it will figure out what amount (if any) is taxable.
