Fee-free cash advance from credit card?
I notice that there are a lot of banks, even large national ones, that allow people to open a checking account with them online and fund the account using any Visa or Mastercard. It's my understanding that this is treated as a " purchase" by the credit card companies. Doesn't this mean that someone could just use this as a way of getting a fee free cash advance by simply withdrawing the money from the newly opened checking account a few days later?
Any banks offer FREE cash advances or outside bank transfers?
I have Bank Of America as my current bank. I also have a checking account with USAA. What I like about USAA is that they offer free cash advances, in other words I can enter my BOA debit card number, or credit card number online and transfer money into the account and it is there instantly. However, being that USAA is not a physical bank, and I only really use it as an account in which my car insurance payment is drawn from, I would like to see if other banks offer a similar service. I would like instant transfers, preferably from a debit credit card that would go straight into their checking and or savings account. As much as I don't like BOA I have so much stuff tied with them, a whole new bank would be a hassle right now. I really hate their transfer service, though. Even a 3 4 day ACH transfer to another bank is like $5 or something like that. Basically I am looking for a checking savings where I can easily and instantly transfer funds as a means to save up money without having any bills tied to the accountIdeally, USAA's set up is perfect, but I would l like to use a physical bank where I can occasionally drop a cash check deposit AND have a service where I can do a cash advance from a credit or debit card, or just have an outside bank linked to my account for instant online transfers. Locally, we have BB& T, Wachovia and others. Anyone know of any brick and mortar banks who have something like this?
