Question: Find affordable housing in north jersey?

Recently found out that my mother is going to sell our house and live with my older sister which would leave me and my child without a place to live. I work and am in school but my income is still not nearly enough to afford my own place yet. I have been looking into housing assistance and all the programs but i seem to keep getting the run around or many programs having long waiting lists or aren't accepting new.applications. shelters are full or in the worst possible areas, Im really not sure where to go or who i can call for help or information, or how to get the assistance im seeking.

Yes there is a really cheap one at 6969 university
