Question: Buying a house in philadelphia?

I'm looking into buying a house in philadelphia pa. but i dont know anything about the areas. i need the area to be safe that is my number ONE! also near transportation. also walking distance to ALOT....im young and i dont wanna living in an area with all old people. i wanna enjoy the area. and Also of course very important is price. i dont wanna spend over $250, 000.

You do research, visit the area,drive around, check out playgrounds and school system. Then hire a realtor

You can buy in any section of Philly for $250K.If you are a hipster-wanna-be there are plenty of "transitional " areas that are full of young suburban transplants. If you think you are better than everyone else, you can live in the Rittenhouse Park or Olde City areas. If living around poor ethnic makes you feel good about yourself, try West Philly. But be warned: no sections are safe---don't let anyone BS you. I was born and raised in Philly but got out when I had kids. Philly has averaged more then one murder per day this year already.

Contact a good real estate agent in the area you are interested in and they can assist in your house search and advise you on values and help negotiate a good price. The agent will not cost you anything as the sellers listing will pay his commission. Good Luck
